Connect PlayStation
New here? The manual walks through connecting, recording and comparing laps.
The PS5 and this computer must be on the same local network — wired or Wi-Fi, mixed is fine. Enter the IPv4 address of the PS5 (on the console: Settings › Network › Connection Status › View Connection Status) or use Scan, then Connect. Saved for next time and for auto-connect.
GT7 default port: 33740
Use a static IP for your console. To find it: log into your router and look for your PS in the connected devices list, or on your console go to Settings → Network → View Connection Status and use the IPv4 Address.

Lap Storage Folder
The folder where recorded lap sessions (.edge files) are saved. Leave blank to use the default location.
Photo mode
Show the camera button in the Telemetry header so you can capture screenshots of the Overview / Performance / Telemetry tabs. Turn it off to hide the button.

The Driver Rating overlay shows this account's DR/SR and refreshes every 2 minutes.
Publish laps to the web
Saved sessions upload automatically to the Traces website using your account — no tokens needed. The rule below decides how new uploads start; the lock badge in the Library changes any single session afterwards.

Share telemetry with other apps
Gran Turismo 7 sends telemetry to one program at a time. With this on, Traces passes every packet straight through, so SimHub and other external tools can run alongside it. In those apps, set the PlayStation IP to this computer (127.0.0.1) instead of your console, and they will connect automatically.
Only needed for an app that can't be pointed at this computer, or one running on another PC. One address:port per box.
On this computer, pick a free port and set the same port in the other app — 33742 works. Ports 33739, 33740 and 33741 are Traces' own and cannot be used here.
SimHub: put 127.0.0.1:33742 above, then in SimHub's Gran Turismo 7 › Game config › Telemetry pick Latest Mode (C Format), IP 127.0.0.1 and UDP port 33742. A fixed IP for the PlayStation on your router is recommended.
Overlays on other devices
Show an overlay on a phone, a tablet or a second computer on this network. Only the overlays are reachable from other devices, only with a link copied from the Overlays page (tick Link for another device there), and nothing can be changed from them; the rest of Traces stays on this computer. Switching this off and on again makes every old link stop working. The first time it is switched on, Windows asks whether to allow Traces on the network: allow it on private networks.
Activity log
A running record of what the app is doing — connection, recording, uploads and errors. Copy for support puts the whole diagnostic on your clipboard. Logs older than 30 days are deleted automatically.
